Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis Issues Updated Ebola Travel Advisory

The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis has issued an updated Ebola Travel Advisory as part of its ongoing efforts to protect the health and safety of residents and visitors by reducing the risk of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) entering the Federation.
Based on the latest guidance from the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO), six countries remain classified as high-risk areas for Ebola transmission and/or importation:
  • Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
  • Uganda
  • South Sudan
  • Rwanda
  • Kenya
  • Burundi
Effective immediately, non-nationals who have visited any of these countries within 21 days prior to their travel will not be permitted entry into the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. This restriction also applies to non-national passengers transiting through any of the listed countries, regardless of whether they disembark or remain onboard the aircraft.
Citizens and nationals are strongly advised to avoid non-essential travel to these countries. Nationals returning to St. Kitts and Nevis within 21 days of travel from any of the listed countries will be subject to enhanced screening at ports of entry and will be required to complete a 21-day self-quarantine period.
The advisory will remain in effect until there is a significant change in the Ebola situation that warrants revision or withdrawal. The Ministry of National Security, working closely with the Ministry of Health and regional and international partners, continues to strengthen border surveillance and national preparedness measures to safeguard public health.
The Government thanks all residents, visitors, and stakeholders for their cooperation and commitment to maintaining the health security of the Federation.
