Washington, D.C., 20 October 2025 — The Embassy of Saint Kitts and Nevis proudly partnered with the five-time Panorama Champions, the Bank of Nevis EBJ Harmonics Steel Orchestra, to promote the Federation’s rich cultural heritage and artistic excellence across multiple U.S. events marking the 42nd Anniversary of Independence. The collaboration underscored the role of cultural diplomacy in strengthening bilateral relationships, engaging diaspora communities, and showcasing the creative spirit of Saint Kitts and Nevis from 25 September to 10 October.

In New York, EBJ Harmonics performed at the St. Peters Alumni and Friends – KANA Independence Black-tie Gala, at the National Independence Church Service, and at the Liamuiga Oualie Arts Foundation (LOAF) Taste of the Sugar Experience, captivating audiences with their signature Caribbean sound and adding vibrancy to the Independence celebrations.

In Washington, D.C., the ensemble performed at the Embassy of France during an event held on the margins of the PAHO/WHO 62nd Directing Council, which featured Caribbean Ministers and health leaders. The performance, organized in partnership with the Permanent Observer Mission of France to the OAS, highlighted the intersection of culture and diplomacy and fostered regional solidarity.

EBJ Harmonics also headlined the Independence Family Fun Day, hosted by the Embassy in collaboration with the St. Kitts and Nevis Nationals Association of Washington, D.C., on October 4, 2025. The event featured EBJ Harmonics and Image Band in celebration of community spirit, culture, and national pride and welcomed nationals from Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia and from as far away as New York and Pennsylvania.

Further expanding the Federation’s cultural footprint, the Embassy joined the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) for its National Day Reception on October 8, 2025, at the historic Twin Oaks Estate. EBJ Harmonics performed a lively set featuring well known St. Kitts-Nevis and Caribbean favorites and a rendition of the Taiwanese classic “The Moon Represents My Heart.” TECRO’s Head of Mission, Ambassador Alexander Tah-ray Yui, commended the collaboration and thanked Ambassador Jacinth Henry-Martin for bringing “the famous Champion Steel Pan Band” and “this wonderful rum from Saint Kitts and Nevis,” referring to the Brinley Gold Shipwreck Rum which was served up to the delight of guests at the grand event.

Rounding out their U.S. tour, EBJ Harmonics performed at the Things To Do DC Cultural Event, hosted at the Embassy on October 10, 2025. The event drew members of the diplomatic corps, professionals, and university students for an evening celebrating the music, heritage, and tourism of Saint Kitts and Nevis, and at which the twin island Federation was highly promoted as an easily accessible, top destination for leisure and relaxation, gastronomy, culture and history, and investment.
Ambassador Henry-Martin extends sincere appreciation to EBJ Harmonics, Brinley Gold Shipwreck Rum, LOAF, TECRO, Things to Do DC, and the St. Kitts and Nevis diaspora associations of New York and Washington, D.C., for their partnership and support.
