Washington, D.C., September 15, 2025 – The Embassy of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United States and Permanent Mission to the Organization of American States (OAS), in collaboration with the Saint Kitts and Nevis Nationals Association, hosted a special Church Service on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the Trinity Moravian Church in New Carrollton, Maryland to commemorate the Federation’s 42nd Anniversary of Independence. The service was well attended by nationals and friends of the Federation.
In her remarks, Her Excellency Jacinth Henry-Martin, Ambassador of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United States and Permanent Representative to the OAS, extended greetings on behalf of the Government and People of Saint Kitts and Nevis and emphasized the importance of togetherness in the diaspora recognizing and commending the membership of the Associations for their steadfast commitment to the ideals of nationhood.
“Your leadership and sense of service remind us that independence is not only celebrated at home but nurtured and safeguarded wherever Kittitians and Nevisians may reside,” she noted.
Reflecting on the official theme, “Perpetual Progress – A Sustainable Future in View,” Ambassador Henry-Martin added, “Perpetual progress calls for us, as nationals, to recommit ourselves to building upon the solid foundation laid by our forefathers. It is a challenge that demands diligence, hard work, sacrifice, prayers, and above all, unity.”
Following the service, attendees gathered for a reception where nationals came together in camaraderie to fellowship, share memories, and reflect on the history, progress, and future of the twin-island Federation.
The Embassy extends sincere gratitude to the Trinity Moravian Church, the Saint Kitts and Nevis Nationals Association, and all nationals and friends who joined in making this celebration a success.
